With multiple programs off to fast starts, the race for the “September Heisman” is in full swing.

Matt Leinart, the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner while playing quarterback for the USC Trojans and current CFB on FOX analyst, released his current top-five on Twitter on Wednesday.

Here’s the video, via CFB on FOX:

Featuring two B1G players, it is difficult to argue with any of Leinart’s five selections.

Graduate transferring from Alabama, Jalen Hurts has the No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners off to a 3-0 start. Completing 49-61 passes, he has thrown for 880 yards, nine touchdowns and zero interceptions. Also the team’s leading rusher, Hurts has added 373 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Another transfer quarterback, Justin Fields has been just as impressive for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Recording 19 total touchdowns – 13 passing, six rushing – Fields is ahead of Dwayne Haskins’ pace through four games in 2018.

Leaving a lasting impression, Wisconsin Badgers junior Jonathan Taylor ran all over the Michigan Wolverines to the tune of 203 yards and two touchdowns. Both of his touchdowns and 143 of his yards came in the first quarter of Wisconsin’s 35-14 beatdown of the Wolverines.

Fields and the Buckeyes travel to Lincoln for a showdown with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday (7:30PM ET, ABC). ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be on-campus, their first trip to Lincoln since 2007.

Ranked No. 8 in America, Taylor and the Badgers host Northwestern (12:00PM ET, ABC).
