Scheduled to hold a press conference at 1:30PM ET on Friday, it is anticipated that the university will announce a new football facility that will cost an estimated $150M.
The plan is for the new facility to be built on the northeast side of Memorial Stadium, where the Ed Weir Track currently sits.
The Cornhuskers’ current facility opened in 2006.
Off to a 3-1 start, Nebraska hosts the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0) on Saturday (7:30PM ET, ABC). ESPN’s College GameDay crew will be in Lincoln for the first time since 2007, when the Huskers fell to the then-No. 1 USC Trojans, 49-31.
The eighth all-time meeting between the two programs, Ohio State won the 2018 game, 36-31. Nebraska’s only win over the Buckeyes came in 2011 when the Huskers beat the Luke Fickell-led team, 34-27.
