After calling the action from the booth for the first three games of the 2019 season, Michigan Wolverines offensive coordinator Josh Gattis made the switch to the sideline on Saturday.

Routing the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 52-0, and racking up 476 yards of offense in the process, it is safe to say the results were favorable.

Compiling 280 total yards, senior quarterback Shea Patterson was responsible for four touchdowns – one passing, three rushing. After the game, he told reporters he enjoyed having his coordinator at field-level.

The Detroit News’ Angelique Chengelis provided video of Patterson’s comments:

Echoing his quarterback’s sentiments, head coach Jim Harbaugh took some positives away from Gattis calling the plays on the sideline.

Via Chengelis (again):

While still not perfect, Michigan only committed one turnover in the game, an interception by Patterson. The Wolverines were also only penalized six times, three fewer than the last time they played at Michigan Stadium vs. Army on September 7.

Improving to 3-1 with the win, the No. 20 Wolverines host the No. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes on October 5 at 12:00PM ET.
