This looked like a scary collision for Mississippi State’s live mascot, but the bulldog appeared to be okay afterward.
Mississippi State is one of the few programs that still utilizes an onfield mascot. Nicknamed “Bully,” the English Bulldog roams the sidelines during football games.
Unfortunately, the aftermath of one play carried over near Bully during Saturday’s game. An Auburn player was shoved out of bounds after scoring a touchdown and went sliding across the turf. He slid so far that his helmet and shoulder slammed into the side of Bully.
It looked like a rough hit to Bully, but it also appeared that he was mostly fine afterward. Obviously, he was shaken up and startled by the play. Hopefully, that’s all it was.
