Kirk Herbstreit has made some changes to his top four after the fifth week of the college football season. The folks in Columbus will enjoy this adjustment.

On Saturday night, following Ohio State’s beatdown of Nebraska in Lincoln, the ESPN college football analyst reranked his top four teams. He has the Buckeyes sitting in that top spot through five weeks of the year.

The Buckeyes posted a 48-7 win over Nebraska on the road to improve to 5-0. Other victories came against FAU, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Miami (OH). Ohio State has won all of those games in convincing fashion.

Behind Ohio State is Alabama (No. 2), Clemson (No. 3) and LSU (No. 4). Herbstreit also has Georgia (No. 5) and Oklahoma (No. 6) on the outside looking in.

The challenges for Ohio State only increase in difficulty. Next week, it will take on Michigan State in Columbus in a B1G East showdown. That will be the toughest test the Buckeyes have had to date.

So far, it’s hard to argue against Ohio State as being the best team in the country. They’ve looked the part through five weeks of the season.
