Pat Fitzgerald offers update on two injured Wildcats

On the heels of a hard-fought, 24-15, loss to the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers on September 28, Northwestern Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald addressed the media on Monday in Evanston.
Touching on several topics, Fitzgerald offered injury updates on two offensive players, redshirt sophomore quarterback Hunter Johnson and senior wide receiver Ben Skowronek.

Transferring to Northwestern after spending his first year at Clemson, Johnson was a five-star prospect in the 2017 class, per the 247Sports Composite.
Redshirting in 2018 to be compliant with NCAA rules, Johnson and the rest of the Northwestern offense have struggled thus far in 2019. Completing just 43-89 passes, he has thrown for 367 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions on the season.
The team’s leading receiver, Skowronek has caught 12 passes for 141 yards (11.8 YPC). Hauling in 45 passes in both 2017 and ’18, the loss of Skowronek will be a difficult one for the Wildcats to overcome.
Falling to 1-3 with the loss in Madison, Northwestern will look to get back on track when they travel to Lincoln to face Nebraska (3-2) on Saturday (4:00PM ET, FOX).
