McLane Carter won the starting quarterback job at Rutgers over the offseason. This past offseason, by the way, he transferred from Texas Tech as a graduate transfer.
He opened the 2018 season as the starter at Texas Tech. Carter has talent, nobody questioned that. And in Week 2, Rutgers was 1-0 with a trip to Iowa looming. In that game, Carter got hit and suffered a concussion.
He did not play in the second half and the Scarlet Knights lost 30-0. The team went on to lose its next three games by a combined score of 130-23, lose its head coach in Chris Ash and Carter did not return to play for a single snap.
The medical issue remained exactly as that. He has not played since Week 2.
