Following the Michigan State Spartans’ (4-3) 38-0 loss to the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers (6-0) at Camp Randall Stadium on October 12, Colin Cowherd – host of The Herd on FS1 – made an interesting claim about the Michigan State program on Twitter.

Here’s Cowherd’s tweet:

Beginning with the 2015 Cotton Bowl Classic, there have been several examples of Mark Dantonio’s program underachieving in big games. Making their only College Football Playoff appearance in that Cotton Bowl, the Spartans lost to Alabama, 38-0.

The 2017 team also lost to Ohio State, 48-3.

Just 24-21 since the start of the 2016 season, Dantonio and the Spartans are idle on Saturday. The team will return to action at Spartan Stadium on October 26 vs. No. 10 Penn State.
