Wisconsin quarterback Jack Coan has received some national attention after a strong outing in last weekend’s 38-0 win over Michigan State in Madison.

On Monday, the Rose Bowl Game announced that Coan has been named the B1G Player of the Week for his efforts. The first-year starter completed 18-of-21 passes for 180 yards and a touchdown in the win. The Badgers are off to a 6-0 start with Coan under center.

Coan is currently the B1G leader in completion percentage at over 76 percent on the year. That ranks second nationally, behind only LSU’s Joe Burrow. No other quarterback in the B1G is above 70 percent on the year.

Coan has also thrown eight touchdown passes with just one interception through the first six games.

Wisconsin will now travel to Champaign to take on Illinois. In two weeks, the Badgers travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State.
