That now makes two former Ohio State quarterbacks who are continuing their careers in the D.C. area. Dwayne Haskins is currently a member of the Washington Redskins.
Jones notoriously stepped in under center for the Buckeyes at the end of the 2014 season to help guide Ohio State to wins in the B1G Championship Game, Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff championship. He started the year as a third-string quarterback, but with a preseason injury to Braxton Miller and an injury to J.T. Barrett in the regular season finale against Michigan, Jones was called into action.
Ohio State defeated Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon to claim a national title.
Since his days at Ohio State, Jones was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He bounced around the league for a few seasons but was never able to really earn a permanent role. Now, he’s got a chance to continue his professional career in the XFL.
