Place kickers catch a lot of grief, but they actually have a pretty difficult job. And in case you don’t believe that, there’s one Troy student who can confirm it.
During a break in Wednesday night’s game between South Alabama and Troy, a student had the chance to win a cash prize if he made a 45-yard field goal attempt — a distance some coaches aren’t comfortable with for their own kickers. Nonetheless, the Troy student gave it a go.
And, well, let’s just say he gave it the old college try. Below is the footage of his kick attempt, which didn’t even make it halfway to the goal post.

Kicking field goals may look pretty easy, but it’s anything but a simple job.
One Troy student found out the hard way. You probably won’t hear him criticizing any college field goal kickers anytime soon.
