When the 2021 season rolls around, there’s a possibility that two members of the Clifford family are on the field.

On Sunday, Penn State received a verbal pledge from three-star wide receiver Liam Clifford, who just so happens to be the brother of current quarterback Sean Clifford. He made his announcement on Sunday in a post on Twitter.

“I want to thank Coach Franklin and the entire coaching staff for giving me this opportunity to make my dreams a reality,” Clifford wrote in a Twitter message. “So with all of that being said I am officially committed to…PENN STATE.”

Clifford is a member of the 2021 recruiting class and comes from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 85 receiver of the class and one of the top 20 players out of his home state.

Nine schools have offered Clifford, seven of which are Power Five programs. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver picked Penn State over Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, Pitt, Duke and Tennessee.

The family connection obviously helped, and with Sean Clifford winning the starting job this year, it might’ve even made the decision even easier for Liam. Penn State currently sits at 7-0 on the year, thanks in large part to Sean Clifford’s success under center.

Clifford is the third player to commit to Penn State’s 2021 recruiting class. Below are some highlights from Clifford during a summer camp:
