Once again, Nate Sudfeld will have to do the heavy lifting.

Indiana tailback Jordan Howard will be out for Saturday’s Pinstripe Bowl against Duke with a knee injury.

Howard was a game-time decision because of the knee injury that he suffered against Maryland in the second-to-last-week of the regular season. He suited up and went through warmups but was unable to give it a go.

Howard was a first-team All-B1G selection in his first season with the Hoosiers after transferring from UAB. In just nine games, he rushed for 1,213 yards and nine touchdowns.

He hasn’t announced any decision as to whether or not he’ll return to Bloomington for his senior year.

Without Howard, Devine Redding will take over the feature back duties.
