Back on Nov. 30, 2013 at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium, history was made.

Auburn returned a 57-yard missed field goal from Alabama all the way back for a touchdown on the last play of the game. The score sealed the deal, giving the Tigers a 34-28 victory. Everybody in the state of Alabama knows about the play.

On Thursday, Ohio State coach Ryan Day was on the radio for his weekly appearance. He was talking about the team’s field goal kicking and about how long he would attempt a kick. But, outside of his own team’s kicking talk, he mentioned a play that the Buckeyes have that involves potentially returning an opposing team’s long, missed field goal:

That play call’s name? “Bama.”

This is pretty hilarious. Is it thanks to the fact that Auburn returned that kick six years ago against the Crimson Tide?

Oh, you bet it is.
