Maurice Washington is a talented running back at Nebraska. However, talent isn’t the only thing he has.
While at Nebraska, he has brought plenty of baggage onto himself. As it stands, he is facing a preliminary hearing date on Dec. 12 due to criminal charges.
Earlier this week, Huskers coach Scott Frost said that Washington hasn’t practiced since the team’s return from Minnesota. His absence from the team isn’t related to his court case, either.

Frost said at the time that Washington not being a part of the team isn’t an indefinite suspension. So, what’s next?
On Thursday, Frost spoke with the media after the team’s practice and said that he and Washington will soon have another conversation:
“I think if he does want to come back, there’s going to be a lot of things he needs to do to earn his team’s trust back, and our trust back,” Frost said. “We’ll see where it goes from there.”
It sounds like Washington will have his chance to be a part of the team once again. How can he do that? We’re not quite sure yet.
It just sounds like there’s a chance.
