Michigan’s matchup does not get any easier for Week 9.

After heading to Happy Valley in Week 8, the Wolverines are returning to the Big House this weekend. Unfortunately, a Top-10 team in No. 8 Notre Dame is on deck. It will mark the third time in the last four games that Jim Harbaugh’s squad has faced a ranked opponent.

Though it will be another tough game and challenge for the Wolverines, at least one analyst is buying Michigan to pull off the upset. A strong second-half showing against the Nittany Lions has David Pollack believing in Harbaugh and company.

Garrett Stepien with The Michigan Insider shared Pollack’s comments from The College Football Podcast With Herbie and Pollack:

“I think Michigan found itself a little bit,” Pollack said. “And remember, Brian Kelly hasn’t been good on the road against ranked teams. And it’s struggle. … I will take Michigan. I think Michigan’s offense is more believable now. And I know their defense is going to be good. I think they’re a better team at home than they are on the road. And so (I’m taking the) Michigan Wolverines.”

“I thought after last week, if they lost to Penn State and looked bad again, then what’s the deal, what are you going to do,” Pollack said. “But I saw signs of life … I think I saw signs of life from Michigan that I hadn’t seen in a while. So I think it’s a big game for Michigan…”

In terms of projections, Vegas is still placing odds at a razor-thin margin. Notre Dame is currently a one-point favorite on the road in the Big House.
