Throttling Maryland, 52-10, on October 26 at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, P.J. Fleck and the Golden Gophers improved to 8-0 in 2019.
Following their latest victory, Fleck made a passionate case for ESPN’s College GameDay to make their first ever trip to Minnesota’s campus for their November 9 date with a fellow 8-0 team, the No. 5 Penn State Nittany Lions, via KSTPSports:
…and here's @Coach_Fleck's pitch for @CollegeGameDay to be here in two weeks for @GopherFootball vs @PennStateFball.
It would be GameDay's first-ever visit to the #Gophers.

Well, Fleck’s pitch sold at least one member of the GameDay crew:
Sold me. I love it. If only I were making the decision. Love their story. Undefeated Gophers vs Undefeated Lions!

Reaching the eight-win mark for the first time since the 2016 season, the Gophers moved up to No. 13 in the October 27 Associated Press Poll.
Holding a two-game lead over Iowa and Wisconsin in the B1G West standings, Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State are the conference’s lone undefeated teams.
Both Minnesota and Penn State are idle on Saturday.
