Snapping a two-game losing skid, the Purdue Boilermakers (3-6) beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-5), 31-27, on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette.
In addition to returning to the win column, the Boilermakers continued an interesting streak in the win.

Alan Karpick, publisher of GoldandBlack.com, pointed out the last time someone other than a freshman found the end zone for Purdue:
That is 14 straight TDs by a freshman for Purdue. Not since Zander Horvath's 7-yd scoring reception from Jack Plummer against Minnesota with 14:49 before halftime (20 quarters a go, no less) has someone other than a freshman been in the end zone.

A freshman out of Amarillo, Texas, running back King Doerue spearheaded the Boilermakers’ attack, finishing with 102 yards on 20 touches.
Catching seven passes for 23 yards, freshman David Bell – a product of Indianapolis – scored the game-winning touchdown on a nine-yard run with 1:14 left to play.
Looking to win consecutive games for the first time this season, Purdue will travel to Evanston to battle Northwestern on November 9 at 12:00PM ET on BTN.
The third straight loss for Nebraska, the Cornhuskers will next be in action vs. No. 18 Wisconsin on November 16.
