Chad Morris is out at Arkansas. The news was announced on Sunday morning, following another Razorbacks loss. ESPN was one of multiple news outlets to report on the situation.

Arkansas dropped a 45-19 game to Western Kentucky on Saturday, a Group of Five team that brought a modest 5-4 record into Fayetteville this weekend. It was the seventh straight loss for the Razorbacks, who are now 2-8 on the season.

Morris was in his second season with the program.

Morris was 4-18 in 22 games at Arkansas, finishing last season with a 2-10 mark. He was 0-14 in SEC play.

Morris was hired from SMU, where he had modest success. He took the Mustangs from a 2-10 team to a 7-5 squad in three years, but there was never much significant success with that program, either.

Arkansas fired Bret Bielema after the 2017 season after going 29-34 in five seasons. In his final year, the Razorbacks were 4-8 with a 1-7 mark in SEC play.

Morris is the third major college football coach to be fired this season, along with Rutgers’ Chris Ash and Florida State’s Willie Taggart.
