Nine games into the college football season, Ohio State is already being considered one of the best teams the B1G has ever seen. Right now, based on performance and outcome, there’s no question the Buckeyes own one of the best squads college football has seen over the last two decades.

Ohio State sits at 9-0 this season, having won every game by 24 points or more. The Buckeyes own the best scoring offense (51 ppg) and defense (8.6 ppg allowed) nationally. Ranked teams — Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Indiana (AP Poll) — have stood no chance against the Buckeyes.

But what makes this season so special in Columbus? Ohio State is just the second team since 2000 to beat every opponent on the schedule by 20 points or more through the first nine games. Last year’s Alabama team did the same.

Last week, Ohio State sat at No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings. That may change this week, with No. 2 LSU defeating No. 3 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Still, the Buckeyes are firmly in the top four spots.

Barring some sort of disastrous scenario, Ohio State will improve to 10-0 this week with a win over Rutgers, and will enter a tough two-game conclusion to the season, closing with Penn State and Michigan.

We’ll see if the Buckeyes can keep this icredible run going.
