Ohio State coach Ryan Day faced one of the most obvious questions of the season during his Tuesday press conference when media members asked for an update on the Chase Young situation. Day didn’t provide one but did say Young will practice this week, and the team will prepare for him to play.
“I don’t have any update for you right now,” Day said.

Ryan Day says Chase Young will practice this week, and they'll prepare as if he's returning this week. But Day says he doesn't have any update on Young's status at this point.

Most anticipate Young will receive a suspension for accepting a loan from a family friend in order to pay for his girlfriend’s flight to the Rose Bowl last season. Young already missed last week, and his suspension could be as high as four games.
With that in mind, it’s interesting that Ohio State will have Young practice, but perhaps Day knows more than he is letting on.
Although it’s also a luxury that Ohio State will face Rutgers this Saturday. Last week, Young practice and then found out he couldn’t play on Friday, but that didn’t foil Ohio State’s defense at all, as the Buckeyes held Maryland to 139 yards and won, 73-14.
Ohio State will visit Rutgers at 3:30 pm ET on Saturday.
