Jeff Hafley on Chase Young: ‘Bring me tape of a better player in college football’

Ohio State sure was pleased to have Chase Young back on the field this weekend. Even after missing two games, the dominant defensive end made his presence felt in a huge game against Penn State.
In his return from suspension, Young recorded three sacks, four tackles for loss, nine tackles and forced two fumbles in a 28-17 win over Penn State. That victory locked up another B1G East title for the Buckeyes, guaranteeing their spot in Indianapolis.
After the game, fans, media and coaches were raving about Young and his dominating presence on the field. Ryan Day said Young should be invited to New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley said he believes the defensive end is the best player in college football.
“Bring me tape of a better play in college football, a more dominant player in college football and me and you can sit down and watch it together,” Hafley said, according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors.

Young is now up to 16.5 sacks on the season, a single-year program record at Ohio State. He’s also forced seven fumbles and has 19.5 tackles for loss.

Without question, Young has been one of the most dominant players in the sport. Many have even considered him a “game wrecker.”
Young has two more chances to prove how good he is on the field, as Ohio State takes on Michigan next week and will play either Minnesota or Wisconsin in the B1G Championship Game.
