An unruly fan who attended Saturday’s rivalry game between Michigan and Ohio State found himself in trouble with the law after some ugly actions in Ann Arbor over the weekend.
According to a report from MLive.com, an Ohio man is behind bars for hurling racial slurs and punching a Michigan State Police trooper during Saturday’s game. He was arrested for assault on a police officer, resisting and obstructing a police officer, disorderly conduct and ethnic intimidation.
Police were called to a disturbance inside the stadium during the game. The report states that the man was intoxicated during the incident. The officer that was struck was not injured.
MLive.com reported that five individuals were arrested on Saturday during the game, two for disorderly conduct, one for fraudulent tickets and one for assault.
Ohio State defeated Michigan in Ann Arbor 56-27, marking the eighth-straight victory in the rivalry game. The Buckeyes improved to 12-0 on the year and will take on Wisconsin next Saturday in the B1G Championship Game in Indianapolis.
Michigan ended the regular season with a 9-3 record.
