Indiana closed out the 2019 season perfectly. The Hoosiers not only got their eighth win of the season — which was the first time since 1993 that the program had achieved that many wins in a season — but it did so against their in-state rival, Purdue.

That’s the best part of it all.

How have the Hoosiers been so successful this year, and against Purdue this past weekend in particular? Look toward quarterback Peyton Ramsey.

Ramsey may be considered a backup because of QB Michael Penix, but Penix has been out of the lineup multiple times this year (and for the remainder of the season) due to injuries. This is Ramsey’s team now and against Purdue, he finished 23-of-39 for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

That performance helped him get named a Manning Award Star of the Week for the second time this season:

Ramsey has put in the work and it is showing seemingly every Saturday. The Hoosiers have been one pleasant surprise in the Big Ten in 2019 and Ramsey is a big reason as to why.
