Jeff Hafley is locked in to Ohio State’s next task. While the co-defensive coordinator has received plenty of looks across the country as a potential head coach somewhere, he’s not focused on any of the outside noise.
Hafley met with the media on Tuesday, talking about Ohio State’s win over Michigan, previewing the B1G Championship Game matchup with Wisconsin and answering questions about the coaching rumors. Kind of.
When asked about being in the conversation of the coaching rumor mill, Hafley deflected, saying he’s preparing for a huge game on Saturday.
Hafley declines to discuss any coaching rumors. “I completely understand you asking that question, but I’m heading into the next biggest game of my career."

Hafley also talked about making adjustments in Ohio State’s 56-27 win over Michigan on Saturday, which proved to be critical in the victory.
Ohio State held a 14-13 lead after the first quarter and went into halftime with a 28-16 lead. The Buckeyes took control of the game in the second half, holding the Wolverines to a field goal and owning a 42-19 advantage into the fourth quarter.
“It’s all part of the game. It’s not so much at halftime. If you wait to do it then, you have no chance,” Hafley said, according to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch. “It’s in between each series (you adjust). We try to work the game so it’s every series.”
Expect to see a similar approach from the Buckeyes this week in Indianapolis. Wisconsin is sure to throw some new wrinkles in the offense this weekend in hopes of catching Ohio State off guard.
