Justin Hilliard provides update on request for sixth year of eligibility

Justin Hilliard’s career has not gone as planned, but the former five-star recruit is currently planning on staying in Columbus for one more season.
Hilliard was once a top-50 recruit nationally when he arrived at Ohio State. Unfortunately, multiple serious injuries have plagued his time with the Buckeyes.
To his credit, Hilliard has battled back every time and has come up with some key plays during his career. This season, he recorded a crucial interception in the win against Penn State.
Earlier in the year, Hilliard acknowledged that he was applying for a sixth year of eligibility due to the medical issues. On Wednesday, he indicated that request has been approved and he plans to return in 2020.

For his career, Hilliard has 49 total tackles with four tackles for loss and an interception. Having a veteran like Hilliard back for 2020 is an early boost for the Buckeyes.
