Ohio State is a really good football program. And, this year, some say this is the best Buckeyes team arguably ever. They’ve been dominating everyone they’ve played outside of a bad half against Wisconsin and a run put on by Penn State to make the game interesting.

One of the reasons for Ohio State’s greatness has been the offense. Justin Fields comes in at quarterback and he succeeds immediately. The running game is successful. The offensive line play is elite. The wide receivers are special.

Everything is clicking. And, it’s not just this year, either. It’s been the last few years. What can that point to? A quality offensive coordinator.

Other schools know this and have seen Ohio State’s dominance on that side of the ball. The common theme has been Kevin Wilson — who was hired as an offensive coordinator in 2017.

An update took place Monday that had Colorado State looking toward Butch Jones as a “strong candidate” for its head coaching vacancy. That has reportedly changed, though. Now, the Rams are looking at Wilson:

“However, sources told FootballScoop that the search has taken a late turn, and former Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson now has a very good shot at being offered the job.”

Wilson was previously the head coach at Indiana from 2011-16 prior to his time with the Buckeyes.
