UConn football players are entering the transfer portal at an unbelievable rate

Just when you thought UConn football couldn’t get much worse, December hits. Now, there’s some concern as to how many players will be wearing a Huskies uniform in 2020.
According to 247Sports, 18 UConn players have entered their names in the NCAA transfer portal in the month of December. We’re not even halfway through the month yet.
It’s not uncommon to see teams lose several players to transfer or have many leap into the portal to explore their options, but 18 guys in 12 days is an incredibly high rate.

UConn just completed its third season under head coach Randy Edsall, and things haven’t gone too well during that time. The team’s best year came in 2017, finishing 3-9. Last year, the Huskies were 1-11 and this year the team was 2-10.
UConn has not played in a bowl game since 2015.
