On Thursday night, each of the head coaches of the college football teams that made the four-team playoff were set to address the media in Atlanta. They were there because of the College Football Awards show that took place.
LSU’s Ed Orgeron spoke. Clemson’s Dabo Swinney spoke. Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley spoke.
Ohio State’s Ryan Day?
Not so much.

CJ Stroud is the No. 2-ranked pro-style QB in the Class of 2020. Day was visiting him before Stroud got on a plane to take his official visit to Columbus.
College Football Playoff? That means something. The press conference that takes place over two weeks beforehand? Eh.
Recruiting means more to Day.
