Joe Burrow was once in Columbus, Ohio trying to become Ohio State’s starting quarterback. That didn’t quite work out.
So, he went to LSU. Fast forward one season, and, here we are.
On Saturday night, Burrow won the 2019 Heisman Trophy:

The Heisman for Burrow was well deserved. He beat out Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields, Buckeye defensive end Chase Young and Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Burrow, in 2019, led LSU to not only the No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playoff, but a perfect 13-0 record. The Tigers beat Alabama this year, and it wasn’t a defensive battle. It was a shootout.
In that game alone, Burrow threw for 393 yards and three touchdowns while completing 31-of-39 passes. This season, the former Buckeye has completed 77.9% of his passes for 4,715 yards, 48 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
And, yes, he has completed nearly 78% of his throws. That wasn’t a typo.

The voting for Burrow to be the Heisman winner was clear-cut as well:

And, rightfully so. Burrow has had an insanely effective season at LSU. Ohio State fans would likely be upset if it didn’t have a capable QB in Justin Fields filling in the void left by Dwayne Haskins after he left for the NFL a season ago.
But thanks to Fields’ abilities shown this year, Ohio State fans can be happy for the former Buckeye taking home the most heralded award in the sport Saturday night.
