Despite rushing for over 1,900 yards and hitting a double-digit touchdown total for a third-consecutive season, Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor wasn’t invited to the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York. One of the greatest ball carriers of this decade has never made the trip.

Still, the Badger back has made Heisman history for the program.

According to Brian Mason of University of Wisconsin Athletics, Taylor is the first Wisconsin football player to finish in the top 10 in Heisman voting three times during his college career. Even though he didn’t claim the top individual honor in the sport, it’s still an impressive feat.

In 2017, Taylor finished sixth in the voting and he was ninth in 2018. This season, Taylor cracked the top five, finishing fifth.

Taylor rushed for 1,909 yards on 299 carries, averaging 6.3 yards per tote. He also had 209 receiving yards and accounted for 26 total touchdowns on the year.

Wisconsin finished the season with a 10-3 record and won the B1G West.

In three seasons with the Badgers, Taylor has piled up 6,080 yards on the ground and has scored 50 rushing touchdowns. The Badgers are 31-9 over the last three seasons.
