The stage is set for the 2019 FCS National Championship Game.

Saturday, four teams battled in the semifinal round of the FCS playoffs, with two teams advancing to the final game of the season.

North Dakota State defeated Montana State 42-14 to advance to the title game, making it the eighth appearance for the program in the last night seasons. The Bison have won seven of the last eight FCS national championships, claiming three under Craig Bohl (2011-13) and four with Chris Klieman (2014-15, 2017-18).

James Madison also advanced to the championship game, defeating Weber State 30-14. The Dukes will be playing in their third title game in four seasons. James Madison claimed the title in 2016 and finished as the runner-up in 2017. Last season, the Dukes advanced to the second round.

The championship game will be held in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 11 with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. ET and the game airing on ESPN. It will be two days before the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Both North Dakota State and James Madison are under the direction of first-year head coaches, as well. The Bison are led by Matt Entz, who has guided the team to a 15-0 year heading into the title game. Curt Cignetti is in his first season, leading the Dukes to a 14-1 campaign.
