The report that three Oklahoma Sooners will miss the Peach Bowl game against LSU has been confirmed by head coach Lincoln Riley.

On Monday, Riley confirmed that running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receiver Trejan Bridges and defensive lineman Ronnie Perkins have been suspended and will not appear in the College Football Playoff semifinal game. He did not explain why the trio was suspended.

Confirmation of the suspensions comes just five days before No. 4 Oklahoma takes on No. 1 LSU in the Peach Bowl. And original report came from SoonerScoop.com last week, but Riley did not comment on the situation.

Perkins leads the Sooners in sacks this season with six. He has also recorded 38 tackles. Missing Perkins would be a massive blow to a team that already doesn’t have an elite defense — especially when matching up against Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow and LSU.

Stevenson has played in all 13 games and has rushed for 515 yards and six touchdowns this season. Bridges caught seven passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

Kickoff between Oklahoma and LSU is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game to play the winner of No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Clemson.
