Iowa is getting set for a top-25 matchup to wrap up the season!
On Friday, the Hawkeyes will face No. 22 USC in the Holiday Bowl. The Trojans will have a bit shorter trip than Iowa with the game set in San Diego, but it is bound to be a nice destination for the Hawkeyes.
This week’s bowl game will be the seventh straight bowl for Iowa. Beyond that, the Hawkeyes are going for their third consecutive win in a bowl. It would tie the longest bowl winning streak in school history that was previously set under Kirk Ferentz from 2008-10.

Though the Hawkeyes may have missed out on a B1G West title this season, Ferentz’s squad was competitive in every single game and was never blown out. The worst loss was a seven-point defeat on the road against Michigan with the showdown against USC an opportunity to reach double digits on the year.
As we get set to enter the Christmas holiday, Odds Shark released a computer prediction for Friday’s game. Iowa is currently set as a -2 favorite, and the projection sees the Hawkeyes coming away with a one-possession victory:
In terms of the Holiday Bowl, the B1G is on a four-game winning streak with Northwestern the team to capture the bowl in 2018. However, the last non-B1G team to win the game was USC back in 2014.
Can the Hawkeyes keep the conference pride rolling, or will USC recapture the Holiday Bowl? Friday’s kickoff is set for 8 pm EST on FS1.
