J.K. Dobbins calls Ohio State the ‘most disrespected team in the country’

It doesn’t matter that Ohio State finished the season undefeated, won a B1G title, had two finalists at the Heisman Trophy ceremony and will compete in the College Football Playoff this year. Running back J.K. Dobbins believes his team is disrespected.

Tuesday, Dobbins met with the media to talk about Ohio State’s Fiesta Bowl matchup with Clemson. That’s when the running back suggested that the Buckeyes aren’t receiving quite the respect they deserve right now.

Reminder, Ohio State is 13-0 this season, earned the No. 2 ranking and will have a shot to compete for a national title.

According to Eric Boynton of the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, Dobbins told the media he felt like the Buckeyes “are the most disrespected team in the country” right now.

Perhaps Dobbins was trying to counter Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, who has often said this season that the media is against his Tigers. Earlier this year, Swinney suggested that the College Football Playoff selection committee was hoping Clemson would lose, in order to push them from the top four spots.

The only slight disrespect towards Ohio State is that Clemson is the betting favorite right now, as the Tigers are currently favored by 2.5 points for the Fiesta Bowl. It doesn’t seem all that egregious for the reigning national champion that went 13-0 again this season and owned an average margin of victory by over 35 points per game.

But, whatever fuel Ohio State needs to get a win, Dobbins seems happy to provide.
