Memphis will be without its top tight end for the Cotton Bowl Classic on Saturday, according to a tweet sent out on Christmas Day.
Wednesday afternoon, Joey Magnifico tweeted out that an infection in his knee recently will keep him sidelined for the team’s appearance in the Cotton Bowl against Penn State on Saturday. He said he wanted to make the statement himself before reports started coming out on Twitter.
This means that Magnifico’s college career is over and he won’t be able to take the field for the last time. Below is the message he sent out on Christmas Day, thanking the school, fans, family and friends for support during his time with the Tigers.
