Michigan RB ‘has been injured,’ not practicing with running backs group ahead of Alabama showdown

On Friday, Aaron McCann of MLive.com reported that Michigan running back Christian Turner would not play in the Citrus Bowl against Alabama on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Turner wasn’t present with the running backs group at practice on Friday.

Kickoff for the Citrus Bowl is set for 1 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on ABC.

“He’s been injured,” Michigan spokesman Dave Ablauf told MLive.

Turner, a redshirt freshman, missed the final two games of the season with an injury. In Week 1 of 2019, he took 11 carries for 49 yards. Since then, his playing time has dropped off.
