Iowa isn’t holding anything back in the final game of the season. And it paid off early for the Hawkeyes.
In the first quarter of the Holiday Bowl, Iowa put together an outstanding opening drive to reach the end zone against USC. The Hawkeyes used 10 plays and drove 75 yards for the first score of the day. As good as the drive was, the touchdown play was even better.
Offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz dialed up a reverse that resulted in freshman wide receiver Tyrone Tracy Jr. taking the ball 23 yards to the end zone. It worked to absolute perfection:

That touchdown gave Iowa an early 7-0 lead.
It was Tracy’s first rushing touchdown of the season. He’s been Iowa’s second-best receiver this season, hauling in 36 catches for 589 yards and three touchdowns.
With a high-scoring offense in USC on the field, the Hawkeyes will need to score plenty of points. They’re off to a pretty good start.
