Penn State running back Journey Brown and linebacker Micah Parsons received special recognition following the Nittany Lions’ 53-39 victory over Memphis in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
Brown was named the Cotton Bowl Offensive MVP and Parsons was award Defensive MVP honors following the win. Both were outstanding in Penn State’s victory.

Brown finished the game with 202 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, for an average of 12.6 yards per tote. He also had two catches for seven yards. The running back also a 32-yard touchdown run in the first quarter a 56-yard score in the second quarter.
Parsons was all over the field defensively, piling up 14 tackles, seven of which were solo stops. He also had three tackles for loss, two sacks and forced fumbles.
With the victory, Penn State finished the season 11-2, hitting 11 wins for the third time in four years.
