Joe Burrow and LSU are setting all kinds of CFP records in one half against Oklahoma

It’s probably safe to say LSU is headed to the College Football Playoff National Championship, even though it is just halftime at the Peach Bowl.

It is hard to fathom, but the Tigers came out on fire in the first half, pouring on 49 first-half points against Oklahoma. Leading the charge was none other than Heisman winner Joe Burrow, throwing for seven touchdowns before the break.

Those seven passing touchdowns are already tied for the most by a player in a bowl game:

According to ESPN’s broadcast, Burrow also set CFP records for passing touchdowns in a game and passing yards in a half with 403. He was not alone in the record-setting group.

Burrow’s favorite target, Justin Jefferson, already has nine catches for 186 yards and four touchdowns. Those four touchdowns are also a CFP record for a game. The Tigers also set a CFP record for points in a half with 49.

Along with those records, the Over/Under for the game was set at 75 points. The two teams are currently just 12 points away from that, putting up a total of 63 in the first half.
