Report: Justin Fields won’t be limited by knee injury in Fiesta Bowl

Justin Fields might have taken the field for pregame warmups with a bulky knee brace on Saturday evening, but the Ohio State quarterback is not expected to be limited by his leg injury during the Fiesta Bowl, according to a report.
Leading up to kickoff between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Clemson, Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch reported that Fields won’t be limited by his knee in the Fiesta Bowl. Though he did sport the bulkier knee brace for pregame warm-ups, the brace was just precautionary.
That’s good news for Ohio State, which has depended on Fields’ mobility throughout the season.

Earlier this week, Fields said he was at “80 to 85 percent,” but that he expected to be a full strength by kickoff against Clemson. He also said his plan was to wear the smaller knee brace for the game, allowing him to use his legs if necessary.
Fields injured his knee in the second half of a blowout win against Michigan. He played a week later in the B1G Championship Game, but wasn’t nearly as effective on the ground. His mobility will be critical against the Clemson defense.
Fields has accounted for 50 total touchdowns this season with just one interception. The Buckeyes are looking for their first win in the College Football Playoff since 2014.
