There are two really good former Ohio State players on the Washington Redskins roster right now, and if Dwayne Haskins has any influence, there will be a third by the start of the 2020 season.
Following the end of the 2019 NFL regular season, Haskins was asked by JP Finlay of NBC Sports who the quarterback would recommend his team takes with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He wants another Buckeye to accompany he and wide receiver Terry McLaurin in Washington D.C.
“Two words is all I gotta say: Chase Young,” Haskins told Finlay.
Young had an outstanding season, finishing the year with 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles. He tallied a total of 46 tackles, as well. For that effort, he was one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
Washington could certainly use a player with the skill set of Young after an abysmal season. The Redskins ended the year with a 3-13 record and now have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Young has been rumored to be a potential No. 1 overall pick, but will almost certainly be taken with the first three selections.
It would be quite the story if he ended up with his former teammates in Washington.
