Tom Allen has had a crazy year at Indiana, leading the Hoosiers to an eight-win season and bowl bid in his third season.
After taking over for Kevin Wilson following 2016, Indiana fell just short of a bowl in Allen’s first two seasons. However, that fell by the wayside this year as the Hoosiers posted their best win total since 1993. Indiana is also looking for its first bowl win since 1991 in Thursday’s Gator Bowl.
On Tuesday, Allen was asked about AD Fred Glass and what the head coach would say to him. During the season, Allen was awarded a long-term contract extension to stay with the Hoosiers.
Here’s the message a very emotional Allen had to share:
“Well, thank you. It just means a lot when people believe in you,” said Allen. “I’m an emotional guy, but I just appreciate him. It means a lot…
“He believed in me when maybe some others would not have. I want to do a great job for him, for IU, for my home.”
