It looks like Penn State received a bit of good news concerning one of its newest signees.

Theo Johnson is a big-time tight end talent, listed at 6-foot-6 and 242 lbs. He is also rated the No. 3 tight end nationally by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and is rated as a top-100 recruit for the 2020 class.

The ultra-talented Johnson signed with the Nittany Lions during the Early Signing Period after committing to Penn State over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, and Michigan, among others. Unfortunately, he indicated that he was injured during a Monday practice for the Under Armour All-American Game.

During a post on Twitter, Johnson confirmed his injury and indicated he will be unable to participate in the All-American Game. While that is disappointing, it doesn’t sound like there should be any long-term setbacks for Johnson.

Hopefully, he’s able to hit the ground running once he arrives in Happy Valley.
