A huge day for Tyler Johnson continues.

Not only did Johnson became the career receiving yards and touchdown catch leader in Minnesota football history, he’s continually making big-time plays for the Golden Gophers. First, it was a ridiculous one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. Then, in the fourth quarter, it was breaking wide open for a 73-yard touchdown reception from Tanner Morgan.

With the game tied at 24-24, Morgan fired a pass down the middle of the field to Johnson, who beat his defender and raced past the entire Auburn secondary for a touchdown. It was his 11th catch and second touchdown of the day.

That score gave Minnesota a 31-24 lead in the fourth quarter of the Outback Bowl.

Johnson totaled 1,114 receiving yards coming into the game, and had over 200 yards receiving midway through the fourth quarter. It’s been an incredible day for the senior receiver.
