New Year’s Day is one of the favorite days of the year for college football fans. It’s when some of the best bowl games of the postseason air each and every season. Most notably, the Rose Bowl.

And if Wisconsin is on the field in the “Granddaddy of them all,” you better not bother him. One kid learned that the hard way during the first half of Wednesday’s game between Wisconsin and Oregon.

During the game, a camera shot panned over to Alvarez, who is sitting next to a child during the game (which could quite possibly be a relative). The kid tried to get Alvarez’s attention, but the Wisconsin athletic director waved him off.

The video, which is below, is going viral:

Who can blame Alvarez? On New Year’s Day, college football fans don’t want to be bothered. After all, this is the last major day for the sport. We’ve got to take it in while we can.

It’s even more intense when your team is playing in the Rose Bowl.
