Minnesota is on a roll and has a lot of momentum moving forward under head coach P.J. Fleck!

With a win in the Outback Bowl, the Gophers hit the 11-win mark for the first time in over 100 years! That alone is a remarkable accomplishment for the program, but the bowl win also sets a school record for Minnesota.

According to the BTN Stats Guys, the New Year’s Day victory gives Minnesota a four-game bowl winning streak which is the longest in school history. The previous record was a three-game winning streak from 2002-03 under head coach Glen Mason.

The Gophers are now on a two-game bowl winning streak under Fleck after winning the Quick Lane Bowl last season. Minnesota missed a bowl in Fleck’s first season with the team, but the Gophers went 2-0 in bowls under Tracy Claeys from 2015-16.
