PHOTO: Bennie Fowler actually didn’t give his mom his piece of Super Bowl history

Bennie Fowler might not have realized it at the time, but his two-point conversion catch in the final moments of Super Bowl 50 was a piece of history.
The former Michigan State receiver hauled in what could be the final completion ever thrown by Peyton Manning.
Originally, Fowler said that he was planning on giving the ball to his mom and having Manning sign it first. But on second thought, Fowler decided to present the ball to the future hall of fame quarterback.

It’s a thoughtful gesture from Fowler after what was likely the most surreal moment of his football career. But Fowler might not have come out of it empty-handed.
Manning is holding a signed jersey of himself, which could’ve easily been a part of a deal the two worked out.
Either way, Fowler has the memory and Manning has another keepsake for his overloaded trophy case.
