Maryland launches ‘Building Champions’ campaign to renovate, enhance athletic facilities

Maryland is cannonballing into the college athletics arms race. The University of Maryland Athletic Department released the information on its website on Wednesday.

“Building Champions will enable an investment in the renovation and enhancement of the Maryland Athletics facilities below, benefiting each and every Terrapin student-athlete,” the Maryland Athletics website stated.

According to the website, the goal is to make renovations and enhancements to nine athletic facilities, including:

  • Cole Field House
  • Basketball Performance Center
  • Field Hockey & Women’s Lacrosse Stadium
  • Stanley Bobb Baseball Player Development Center
  • Softball Player Development Center
  • Golf Player Development Center
  • Track and Field Stadium
  • Soccer Stadium
  • Gossett Hall Renovation

Maryland is looking to build up its athletics facilities across the board in an attempt to produce more competitive products and become a more enticing landing spot for top recruits.
