Ohio State won’t be in New Orleans competing for the College Football Playoff national title, but Ryan Day will be in the city as a frequent guest on several of ESPN’s shows during its Championship Day coverage.

No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Clemson will meet with the national championship on the line on Monday, and leading up to the game, ESPN will have a ton of college football coverage. Day will be a big part of that.

ESPN released its plans for the Championship Monday schedule, which includes seven hours of broadcast coverage leading up to kickoff. Day will be alongside Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher and Alabama’s Nick Saban as part of the coverage team throughout the day.

Championship Monday will be part of ESPN’s 40-plus hours of coverage for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Day led Ohio State to a 13-1 record, a B1G title and a College Football Playoff appearance in his first full season as the head coach. The Buckeyes fell to Clemson 29-23 in the Fiesta Bowl, the only loss of the year.
